“Special Disco Version” is a design that is influenced by the many disco DJ’s and producers who were masters at creating exclusive disco versions of tracks in other genres. Many of these tracks are highly sought out -- not only because they are exclusive -- but because in many cases they are better than the original. There are countless mainstream rock, pop, new wave, soul and reggae tracks that were forgotten or even despised by listeners -- and these special disco versions gave the songs and artists a renaissance in the club. This involved adding layers of percussion, extending the break, dubbing the basslines, and splicing vocals to edit out the cheesier elements to end up with a lean funk disco machine that could send a crowd into ecstasy.
