HIGH LIFE

High-Life is a traditional African style of music that originated in Ghana and rapidly spread throughout West Africa in the 1920's. The music is funky and rhythmic with guitars playing harmonic intricate riffs over bright jazzy horns with lyrics that touch upon themes of oppression and revolution. Recently, there has been alot of interest in High-Life due to diggers unearthing funky rarities from the villages of Ghana to the streets of Nigeria. 101 Apparel has been bumping these tunes for a while so we created a design that pays homage to all the artists invested in the High- Life movement. The shirt features the text "High Life" in the center with a kalimba, conga, djembe and microphone juxtaposed within the African inspired font. Afro-jazz junkies, collectors of ethnic music,
